Become a BPP Ambassador

Learn about nonprofit development from home and help provide students with an education

Are you self-motivated and interested in learning more about peer-to-peer fundraising with an international nonprofit? Do you have experience working in Latin America or care deeply about education? Build your skills and enhance your resume by becoming an Ambassador with BPP this spring!

Barrio Planta Project is a nonprofit organization that provides high-quality education to children with limited resources in Nicaragua and Mexico. We’re committed to educating our students no matter what is going on in the world, and are looking for Ambassadors to assist us with our Spring or Holiday Fundraising Campaign. This is a remote position, with training and weekly meetings held online and requires a commitment of 2-5 hours/week.

We are looking for volunteers who have:

  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of different social media platforms.
  • Strong relationships with influences in the community.
  • A passion for education, development, or Latin America.

We are putting together a team of Ambassadors to help us raise money to continue to provide our free, supplementary educational programs at all of our schools. We will help you build your own fundraising page, give you a detailed toolkit, and development professionals will meet with you in small weekly meetings to teach you the basics of online fundraising. With the right team, we know our Fundraising Campaign will be a success!

This is a volunteer position, but we do not accept all applicants into the BPP Ambassador program. We will conduct a short interview prior to the campaign. This is an amazing resume-builder and introduction to fundraising for those seeking work in the nonprofit world, or for those who just want to make a difference. Upon success in the volunteer program, ambassadors will receive a certificate of completion from BPP. Those who raise $1000 or more will become student sponsors and will be able to virtually meet their student!

Do you think you have what it takes to be a BPP Ambassador? If you’re interested in joining our team please send your resume and a brief cover letter to info@barrioplantaproject.org.

Words from an Ambassador

Here is one of our ambassadors has said about the program

Natalie Fay

USA

"As an Ambassador for BPP during the 2019 holiday season, I was able to reach out to my network and share a cause near and dear to my heart. The BPP team assisted me with important deadlines and information which made the entire experience easier to manage within my already busy schedule, and I learned so much through the consultation provided at the weekly meetings, where I also met a group of other ambassadors. While there are so many causes to support, friends and family want to hear about causes that inspire you because they are already connected to you, so it’s easy for them to connect to that cause as well. Leveraging the relationships with people close to me to make a positive impact on communities in need was an invaluable experience.

Every child deserves a bright future that allows them to follow their dreams. These happy, ambitious, kind kids are being given that opportunity with resources like the ones BPP provides. Through this program, I was happy to make a difference while building my skills in fundraising and development in a fun and stimulating way."
