Become a BPP Ambassador

Learn about nonprofit development from home and help provide students with an education

BPP is now accepting ambassador applications for our  2022 Spring Campaign, to work with us for seven weeks, from  May 16th – July 8th. Are you self-motivated and interested in learning more about peer-to-peer fundraising with an international nonprofit? Do you have experience working in Latin America or care deeply about education? Build your skills and enhance your resume by becoming an Ambassador with BPP this summer!

Barrio Planta Project is a nonprofit organization that provides high-quality education to children with limited resources in Nicaragua. We’re committed to educating our students no matter what is going on in the world and are looking for Ambassadors to assist us with our Spring Fundraising Campaign. This is a remote position, with training and weekly meetings held online, and requires a commitment of 2-5 hours/week.

We are looking for volunteers who have:

  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of different social media platforms.
  • Strong relationships with influences in the community.
  • A passion for education, development, or Latin America.

We are putting together a team of Ambassadors to help us cover the enrollment of our students in our programs. We will help you build your own fundraising page, give you a detailed toolkit, and development professionals will meet with you in small weekly meetings to teach you the basics of online fundraising, provide access to peer support and set you up for success.

This is a volunteer position, but we do not accept all applicants into the BPP Ambassador program. You are required to fill out an application to be considered and will conduct a short video interview to learn more about you prior to your acceptance into the campaign. This is an amazing resume-builder and introduction to fundraising for those seeking work in the nonprofit world, or for those who just want to make a difference. Upon success in the volunteer program, ambassadors will receive a certificate of completion from BPP. Those who raise $1000 or more will become a student sponsor and will be able to virtually meet their student. Additionally, those who are interested in extending their participation through the rest of the summer will be eligible for the Prospecting Internship Program to learn more about prospect research, grant writing, and the development end of the social sector. Learn more about the full Summer Internship here.

Do you think you have what it takes to be a BPP Ambassador? If you’re interested in joining our team please fill out the Application Form.

Words from Ambassadors

Here is what our ambassadors are saying about the program

Fiona Wallace

Davis, CA

"I loved being a part of this ambassador program. Not only did I learn essential skills about the non-profit realm, but also gained a meaningful experience by helping those in need. If you are looking for a great way to give back to those less fortunate, be an Ambassador."

Natalie Weinberg

Dallas, TX

"I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity. I was able to gain diverse skills I would not have been able to gain otherwise. I made some mistakes throughout the campaign, but I believe I learned from them greatly. BPP has an amazing mission and I feel so lucky to have been able to work alongside the BPP Team."

Maria Andrade

Tallahassee, FL

"The knowledge that I acquired during my time at BPP has truly benefited me, personally and professionally. I am grateful to have been exposed to essential tools and skills that enabled me to understand the inner workings of peer-to-peer fundraising. My highlight of working at BPP was getting the opportunity to learn so closely from the Executive Director and the other team members. Furthermore, I am thankful for this opportunity because it allowed me to help such a great cause during some of the hardest times."
